Mobile Comms Technology Boosts Productivity and Work-Life Balance: Survey
Radio 938 Live - 13 July 2009
More than half of Singaporeans say that mobile communications technology used by smartphones and laptops has improved their work-life balance.
Nine in 10 Singaporeans surveyed for the Kelly Global Workforce Index said it has boosted their personal productivity.
They said the ability to work outside the office, yet remain in constant contact, has been a positive development even though more than a third are now working longer hours.
This figure is higher than the survey’s world average of 84 per cent who recognise the productivity benefits of mobile communications technology.
As a whole, 54 per cent of Singaporeans are satisfied with their work-life balance.
But fewer Gen Y respondents are happy with their current work life balance compared to Gen X respondents and Baby Boomers.
