Cautious Optimism

Business Times - 04 August 2009

Hiring appears to have resumed in some sectors. Is this true of your industry and if so, which kind of positions are available now?

'The sectors that are more inclined towards hiring include healthcare, life sciences, education and oil and gas, all of which have emerged relatively unscathed from the recession. We also see some revival in recruitment in the banking and financial services sector as evidenced by the rising volume of financial transactions. There continues to be a demand for talent at the middle management level. In addition, we see an increased focus on recruitment in the professional and technical space and a greater need for specialisation due to the shortage of skilled expertise, particularly in the IT, engineering, and biomedical fields.'
